Sesame Street meets Max Ernst
Mister Nizz
Drey told me that I had to check out "Wondershowzen" on MTV2 last night, and so I dutifully did give it a viewing. I was astounded. Normally you would have to threaten me with a gun to watch anything to do with MTV these days, but this show is amazing. Imagine Sesame Street written by Salvador Dali... it's absurdist, grotesque, surreal and intensely funny from start to finish. I'm a convert!
Written in the format of a comedy/variety show packaged as children's learning show, Wondershowzen mixes puppets, animation, cute kids asking strange questions and other bits to make a... something out of it all that I can't begin to describe. I'll be watching this one again.
