The MAN with the SCREAMING BRAIN!!

Mister Nizz

DARK HORSE COMIC

My favorite character/horror/adventure/B-Movie/movie scene writer and all around good joe, Bruce Campbell, has been working a lot of straight-to-DVD projects lately, with companies like Anchor Bay Entertainment, Blue Moon, etc. The latest is THE MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN, which just premiered on the Sci-Fi network. His last movie, ALIEN APOCOLYPSE... well, no insult meant to Bruce but it sucked. And the reason for that was not allowing Campbell the free reign he should have had with his character skills. The Alien Apocolypse character of Doctor Ivan, was, frankly, too goody-two shoes for Campbell. I appreciate the guy's range, but nobody, but nobody, plays the disgruntled blowhard better than Bruce, and THE MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN is a role tailor made for him. Can't beat the source material, either, straight from DARK HORSE comics, and it was written by Campbell himself.

In Bruce's own words (from his website):
Man with the Screaming Brain is a story of greed, betrayal and revenge in the former Eastern European block. William Cole, wealthy industrialist, goes looking for a tax shelter in the wrong part of the world and winds up the guinea pig for a mad scientist, having his brain merged with that of Yegor, a former KGD operative. The two couldn't be more different, but they share one thing - both were killed by the same woman. William and Yegor form an unlikely partnership to track down their common nemesis. If I were pitching it in Hollywood, I'd say it's The Out-of-Towners with a brain transplant." -BC

The whole production is over the top, campy and really, really funny. Not mean-spirited like Alien Apocolypse, either. You can't beat the cast, including long time collaborator Ted Raimi, Stacy Keach, and a whole buttload of East European actors.

I loved it. I'm buying the DVD.
