Classic Knizia
Garrett and I blundered over to NOVA COMICS yesterday, mostly to window shop. The NOVA JACKS, the adult (mostly Euro) crowd were there, and I met (Col) Bob Arhaus, who was a regular mention on
THE DICE TOWER in the early shows and a big friend of Tom and Joe. He's a true gent and quite friendly. I couldn't stay long but got talked into a few rounds of
LOCO, an older game by Reinier Knizia (Amigo Spiele, 1994). Loco is a very clever card game that is another in a long line of Knizia card game that is concerned with chips, colors, numbers and suits. It reminds me of Titan the Arena somewhat, in that you are 'bidding' (using chips) on a bigger payoff for each color suit. It's fairly easy to strategize, as there are so few cards in play that even a math dolt can card count and figure what will be placed next, on the other hand, it is not EASY as such. Loco is a great game, dirt cheap, quick filler yet very challenging. It should be readily available from online realtors. Lots of fun in a small package. If you've been reading this blog, you know those are traits that I value in a game.
