Genghis Con

Mister Nizz

This looks interesting, found it on Secret Scrolls Digest.

Pittsburgh-based film company Happy Cloud Pictures is proud to present Genghis Con, PA, on November 18-20 at the Greentree Radisson. The first of its kind in Pittsburgh, Genghis Con is making its dual focus the horror genre and the wide and busy world of independent filmmaking.

Genghis Con, PA is celebrating horror's entertainment history by welcoming as its special guest, Herschel Gordon Lewis, who invented the "splatter film" in the '60s with the groundbreaking drive-in classic, Blood Feast. Joining Herschel is a variety of horror entertainment staples including journalist, entertainment scholar and personality Joe-Bob Briggs ("The Job-Bob Report"); Gunnar Hansen, the original "Leatherface" from Tobe Hooper's classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Ed Neal, "the Hitch-hiker" from the same film; Reggie Bannister, from the cult series Phantasm; Brinke Stevens, the original "Scream Queen"; Tom Sullivan, props genius for the cult classic The Evil Dead; actress, producer and director Amy Lynn Best; actress and producer Debbie Rochon ("Nowhere Man"); G. Cameron Romero (son of George and director of 24 Frames); April Burril, the star of "Chainsaw Sally"; and wrestling-promoter-turned-actress Jasmin St. Claire (Swamp Zombies).

In addition to the guests-of-honor above, Genghis Con, PA will be host to independent filmmakers from across the country who have been working in the field to provide audiences with brand new entertainment not commonly seen at your local megaplex.

Happy Cloud Pictures was founded in 1997 by Amy Lynn Best, Bill Homan and Mike Watt to produce independent horror and comedy motion pictures in Pittsburgh. Their award-winning features include Severe Injuries (available world-wide through SRS Cinema) and the upcoming "zombie-noir" The Resurrection Game. Best has been a frequent invited-guest to such horror-themed conventions as the prestigious Chiller Theatre Convention in New Jersey and the Horrorfind Convention in Baltimore.

Pittsburgh has never seen a show like this! Genghis Con, PA is a celebration of the independent spirit. Customers will receive access to a huge vendor room, Q&A panels with the celebrities, the "Chainsaw Sally 2" PRE-union, and on-going screenings, including the First Annual Pretty-Scary.net film festival and the world premiere of the movie Skin Crawl. Happy Cloud Pictures has already promoted the show through Videoscope and Sirens of Cinema magazines, and will be advertising on radio and through local newspapers.
