Do we need a line of custom figures every time?
Now, this looks like a fairly promising premise, right up my alley:
Space Bastards! From Outer Space! by Skullduggery
What happens to the Galactic War heroes when the wars are over? Enter the “Space Bastards!”, killing machines who have fled the terror of boring desk jobs to do what they do best … reduce each other to their base molecules. Space Bastards! is a light hearted miniature game of carnage, greed and collateral damage for two or more players.
Rumor has it that it might be pretty funny and cinematic, like BATTLESTATIONS!.
With that said, I find myself reluctant to shell out even the ten paltry bucks the publisher is asking for it. Why? This little snippet.
I'm sure one of your big questions is "Where can I get Space Bastards! miniatures?" The answer to that is, "Wherever you like." We don't have miniatures of our own (yet) so use whatever miniatures you like! Here are a few miniature companies we use:
Cobalt
Superfigs
WarMachine
Confrontation
Reaper
Dark Age
Thugz
Wargames Foundry (Street Violence line)
Games Workshop
I don't know why I have this irrational prejudice about SF miniatures games without supporting systems... I certainly don't feel that way about historicals. I guess when you are creating a specific miiieu, you want to see specific miniatures for it. It's part of the game universe, and dang it, I want it in my greedy little hands! With that said, maybe I might give Space Bastards a try .. or might not.
